Review for “rules
of the fools” 7” (Bad Dog/Core-Tex) 1998
RockHard 6/98
Surprisingly the Surface-layer
DEVIL IN DISGUISE travles on a path wich is precarious close
to Social Distortion. The coolness that Mike Ness has appropriated
in almost two decades now, can´t be transposed one to
one by “Ruhrpott”-Rockers who are half of his age.
But for a respectable “piss-off-a-legend” it´s
good enough easily. The first 100 copies are in coloured vinyl.

If you like Elvis and Social
Distortion, this record is for you !
In 2003 Devil in Disguise
recorded a Demo under the name The Rotten Few.
Here are some Reviews !

The god of the Punk`n Rolls
rised again, in form of THE ROTTEN FEW. Whiskey impregnated, dirty
Punkrock, that is the sound of this Band from Essen. The 4 Songs
on this CD-R are recorded very well in a studio. I agree with the
band: In the promotion-info, they say that their influences are
The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, REM, Dean Martin and Frank
Sinatra, paired with Punk Rock. Rocks as fuck.
Fomp Magazine
The Rotten Few are a Punk´n
Roll band from Essen, whereby punk comes to the fore. Unfortunately
there are only 4 Songs on their Demo, wich are good without exception
(1.Needle&Spoon, 2. Pathetic Man, 3. Dirty Looks, 4. Intoxication).
For a demo, the recording is in a really good quality and the Session
Park Studio did their job well. Musicalwise it moves between Generators
and Social Distortion, but their independence doesn´t get
lost. Pathetic Man is my favourite song on this mini-album. Flows
really good !!! (david) |
